Today is the first day of Lent, the church season of preparation for Easter. It’s a good time to reconsider this faith.
For me this year, that means I’m reading John Mark Comer’s latest book, Practicing the Way, and asking myself what it really means to follow the way of Jesus and not the way of materialism, consumerism, or hyper-politicization. I’m also planning to read Brian Zahnd’s The Wood Between the Worlds. Zahnd’s interview with Skye Jethani on The Holy Post podcast last week invited me to reimagine the cross.
Lent is a season in which any of us who want to follow Jesus are invited to walk with him and imagine new possibilities for our lives and for this world.
