A Nice Gesture From Audible.com!

WELL, HERE’S A NIC E THING!

In honor of my fans’ obvious enthusiasm , Audible.com told me they would put ALL of the OUTLANDER audiobooks (the main books of the series) on sale for $7.49 each, until May 1st! (If you have or create an audible.com account–if you don’t have one, it doesn’t cost anything to make one, and you don’t need to sign up for their monthly membership credits unless you want to–then you’ll see the sale price on the books when you go to the page.)

Here’s their message, with li...

Alicia Well, I already own all of the books on CD (including thr LJG series). Suggest to audible that they have an introductory special for book 8. I'll bet your fans will be equally enthusiastic then too!

Kathryn There is one they don't have read by Davinia Porter which really annoys me. (I am an audible member). I will be happy when they get that one, only one I don't have on audio. May have to buy CD's if they fail to get it.

Kathryn--

All the main OUTLANDER books have been read (unabridged) by Davina Porter. The Lord John books (which _are_ part of the series, but shorter, and focused differently) are read by Jeff Woodman, who's also wonderful.

Michelle Davina Porter is such an amazing narrator. Totally worth listening to them on Audible- even if you have read the Outlander series several times, which I have! Brings the stories alive in your imagination in a whole new way.

message 5: by Stacey (new)

Stacey Reynolds Love Davina Porter, but I liked the narrator for the abridge Fiery Cross as well. A good narrator is so important and I have not been disappointed!

message 6: by Bridget (new)

Bridget Healy I just downloaded all 7. Can't wait to listen to the series (for the 4th time) while I knit!

message 7: by Kristin (new)

Kristin Davina and Jeff are wonderful! I find myself reading along while I listen.

Kathryn Diana
A Breath of Snow.... is not for me at audible by Davinia. Guess to do with world rights. Live In New Zealand. Heard you speak in Wellington, loved that.

I bought the 2 that were abridged before they were released unabridged. I didn't like that narrarator nearly as well, but they are all released now with Davina Porter. I went back and re-bought them in the unabridged. I wish this sale had been going on then.

Candace Diana, I have all your books in my personal library and have read them several times. I enjoy your writing very much. My question is when will you release your books in downloadable unabridged version to the library system? Thank you, Candace

Dear Candace--

That's unfortunately not my decision, but the publisher's--in this case, Random House. I'll ask my agent to make inquiries about it, though!

Poppy Fields It was a great treat to stumble upon this sale. I bought three and now have the whole set. What a bargain! I will have months of your great stories and Davina Porter's perfect narration!

message 13: by Becky (new)

Becky I ran into this sale, and bought the final 4! Now to space them out and not just gorge! So much fun, I've really loved the series.

Candace Diana, thank you for checking with your agent concerning the release of your books in downloadable unabridged versions to the library system. I have asked my grandmother if she is familiar with your works. She said no. Will you ask your agent if your novels are available to the blind? Thank you again for your hard work. Writing and editing is not easy. Research is time consuming. I'm appreciative for the joy your sweat produces. Sincerely, Candace

Diana Gabaldon Candace--

Yes, all my novels are available through the Library of Congress Talking Book program (as well as on commercial audiobooks). And I believe my books _are_ available for library download, because someone just told me they'd got one on their Kindle from their local library and were looking forward to reading it.

message 16: by Candace (new)

Candace Diana, thank you for your quick response. When I see Grams in two weeks I will let her know your books are available to the blind, and I will help Grams search for them. It is terrific news another reader downloaded a copy of your book on a Kindle. I will contact the Lee County Library System and the Charlotte-Glades Library System concerning downloadable versions. Best wishes on the next Jamie-Claire novel. Blessings, Candace
