My father-in-law has a saying that I dug a lot:

“It’s all happening, all of the time.”

I always took that to mean, even if you don’t witness the machinations that affect you, they’re still going on and should be factored in as a kind-of wild card that can produce unexpected results.

Now, however, I think it means shit sucks for everyone everywhere, so you’re not special.
