My Review:
Thanks to the author for providing a copy of the novel.
The Scots of Dal Riata is the story of the legendaryKing, Fergus Mor, who according to myth was the first king of Scotland. Theauthor weaves an interesting tale of Fergus’ rise to power in the mid to late 5thcentury. With scant records, Kinread builds a world full of intrigue, violence, and love.Fergus, the son of King Erc, lives in constant threat of danger from the handsof his elder half-brother. While on the run, Fergus meets the beautifulRhianna, who is forced to wed a serial abuser. He is as determined to free heras she is to escape her marriage. The book is a fun read with tons of actionand a good love story. I enjoyed reading about the time period of which solittle is known and recommend it to readers who enjoy a good action yarn. Note: There is a fair number of anachronisms that may put off some die-hardhistory buffs.
