“Can you get (open) the door?”


“I didn’t get (purchase) groceries.”


“Did you get (receive) my letter?”


“I’m getting (becoming) tired.”


“How can I get (enable) this to happen?”


Strictly speaking, “get” just seems like shorthand for a possessive, but it’s so versatile. She’s the “fuck” of nonexplicit english
