What I'm Reading

I have a Delhi book club and we've been meeting for many years. I love this group, this practice because while at the end it becomes wine and gossip, we do read such interesting things and there's always so much to say even if (especially if!) you hated the book. We - - a rather truncated group of four who met yesterday--all loved this book though, the story of a 13th century noble woman sent to an abbey as a political move and her rise to power within it. Lauren Groff writes so well, fluid yet staccato that reading one of her books is like slipping into music. Then too, I'm fascinated by books about nuns, the politics! The prayer!
