For years, I’ve had a plan to get a sleeve of pulp novel covers on my left arm, continuing the loose writing theme of most of my tattoos. I wanted to start with a western pulp design with my sons’ names because they’re a couple of badass outlaws.

But tattoos aren’t cheap (anymore), so I was able to put aside some cash from my last book deal to start the sleeve. Then, I found an amazing artist, Danielle Oberosler, who not only has a shop not far from our town, but also IS A FUCKING WRITER. She wrote a book about her haunted guesthouse and used to write for Skin & Ink mag. So, kismet, right?

I booked some time and sent her some vintage western pulp magazine covers I found for inspiration and, boy fucking howdy, did she come up with and execute a fucking KILLER tattoo.

Guys… GUYS!… I love this work.
