A little more about Tales of the Emerald Serpent and Kickstarter

After I posted yesterday's snippet, I realized that many of you probably aren't familiar with Kickstarter and what this project is about.

Basically, it's an alternative method of publishing. In our case, it's a book. Instead of going through a publisher, our editor, Scott Taylor, has fathered a terrific lineup of writers and artists, including me, Juliet McKenna, Harry Connelly, and Todd Lockwood. We are all working together to publicize the project, via sites like this, hoping to whip up enough interest to raise the $10,000 we need to make the project a reality. To that end, we're asking our fans and interested parties to donate to the cause at the Kickstarter site: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/563681582/tales-of-the-emerald-serpent-shared-world-mosaic-a?ref=live

So, bottom line, if we don't manage to raise the funds, Shay's story, and all the others, will not see the light of day. :( Any amount will help. Here are just a few examples of the perks donors receive:

$5 gets the donator an e-copy of the book

$30 gets you the e-book, your name in the acknowledgements, two beautiful bookmarks, and a 8.5x11" print of the book's cover and a PDF of the the 'world builder's guide' that includes images, author's notes, and other insider information on the project development and the setting!

For $100, the donor gets a plethora of goodies, including the hardcopy of the book.
