An Update About What's In The Works

Hello there everyone! It’s been a couple weeks, and I wanted to update all of you about what is going on.

First of all, I am hard at work on a couple new things. One is that that I am working hard on the dark fantasy horror Once Upon a Time in Boston. The critiques I got for the early draft was positive yet nearly all of then felt it was lacking in character development for the lead and certain parts felt rushed. Which is more than fair. It’s a very weird experiment of a tale. So I am currently expanding it, sewing up plot holes, and doing another round of general editing before submitting the new draft for feedback. Also I submitted another smaller horror short called Nowhere to Scribophile. I have not had looked at the reviews for it yet. But I suspect, seeing how this story is a much smaller project than Once Upon a Time in Boston, this will likely be self-published first.

Then I am also revising Nel and The Tower of Spirits. This is one of the earliest books I ever self-published. And unlike many of those early novel publication mistakes, it is not bad. There are minor mistakes here and there, but not distractingly so. Its scifi fantasy that really does reflect my teenage mindset at the time it was written, and looking back on it now, I can say it’s not bad. It’s not the masterpiece I felt it was at the time, but it’s simple and cute. It would work perfectly well as a kid book. Right now, I am half way through the revision. And once done, I am going to re-release this as a short story and at much lower cost because it is not on par with everything I write today.

And lastly you, you may have notices the past three weeks, I stopped sharing audio story chunks. Its because I have been looking at the stats for the last two years lately and it no one has been listening to them. I completely understand why. They are rough and not the highest quality by any means. I am getting nothing done as I go down this road. Now I am still recording. Its officially part of my editing process. But I’m going to do something with the recordings. All that audio can be used for something, and I have a few ideas bouncing around about what to do with them. I will try a few of them out when I have more time.

And that is what is in the works. I’m sorry I don’t have anything amazing to share this week. But now that all the short story revisions are basically done, I’m down much longer projects so they take more time. I hope you have a great week everyone.
