Pseudonym change, other updates

As I mentioned a couple of months ago, the next release (the paperback of Zoey) will be under my own name as I retire the David Wong pseudonym. The plan is to re-release all of my other books under my real name as well, I don't know the exact timeline but probably this fall. You'll see the change roll out here and on Amazon etc as everyone switches over.

The next book is the 4th in the John and Dave series, I haven't thought of a title yet but I'm sure it'll be stupid. I've written 108,000 words on it and it'll probably be around 120,000 or so when finished. I'll probably have a finished draft this summer and then will let it sit, then come back and do a bunch of editing before turning it in (writer tip: let your manuscript sit for a bit before going back to review it! You'll have fresh eyes! Mistakes will jump out at you!)

This has been a brutal year but I have no room to complain compared to friends and family who've been in and out of hospitals, lost power in the recent winter storms and had their careers derailed by COVID and broader shifts in the economy. My goal is to not put any of that into this next book, my goal isn't to depress the reader, there are other industries that provide that service.

Hope you all are doing well, if you're not, we'll get through it together.

Jamie Homer A cracking update and thank you seriously, for keeping current affairs out of your books. I was only saying to a friend the other day that reading is my escape and so being blasted with a reflection of the current state of play just ruins that (we were talking about a major sequel that came out late last year). Can't wait for the next book!

Matt McClard Awesome, the world needs another David Wong and John story!

message 3: by David (new)

David Good. The world has too many Davids already. And looking forward to the new book!

Draim Will be this profile still in use (only name change) or does Goodreads require a new one beaceuse of the older books? I've noticed some authors have here a separate account for each pseudonym.
