I can’t seem to find a place to like your comment, so how about “Amen Kathy!”
I think it is sad that 'mere mortals" insist upon "lifting up" well known people and expect them to function only as things that make the mere one comfortable. Its almost as if they don't see them as citizens in the world but some figment of their imaginations that bring them personal joy.I feel its very important that well known people speak up. There is a level of role modeling assigned to them that many of them happily embrace. You'd think that same sort of role modeling would be found in the mere mortals that have unrealistic expectations of the well known.
The state of the world is as it is because of people choosing not to speak up and being models...

Kathy is replying: Adriene, I see the challenge with 'liking' or 'replying'! I will try this approach & say Thanks!

I don't even think its that. For many, celebrities, et. al function as a "fantasy" for people to escape their realities and in the minds of said people the notion of that person being any more than the "defined" creature rattles that fantasy. Now, if they happen to say something with which the mere mortal disagrees, yeah, then it can get ugly. The "love affair" is OVER lol
hahahaha. again, well said. and very insightful. now that you mention it, that nails why, probably, I never read any of Stephen King's non-fiction. (although I now see a lot of value in his personal opinions when I do happen to see them). I read fiction to be entertained. I'm not particularly interested in how it's done, only in that it be done well.I am not a follower of celebrities, but I can see exactly what you are saying, it's very prevalent that the players themselves become what it is about. I never realized that.
that explains all the outrage and controversy over some entertainer's personal lives. I never understood that. they are people with lives that should be, imo, separate from their work. I felt the same about the Clinton presidency. it doesn't matter if I think what he did was ok or not, what is important is the quality of the work. not that character and integrity should be disregarded, but you illustrated very well, how we can become confused.
our lives have taken on a great deal of surrealism, I feel, in current times, but clear thinking like yours is appreciated. by me, for sure.
: )
I love King he is a great author and I have read about 1/3 of his books and they are just better and better every time I read one.
I too am Stephan King fan ! I’ve read almost all his books! He is an awesome author of creepy tales and the like! I agree with Kathy, 100 percent! If we couldn’t speak our minds we’d be living in a communist country and not the home of the free and brave ! I’m not a big fan of what others say , however they have the same right to speak no matter what the opinion!

I feel the intelligence that crafted this author's work is reflected in his commentary. To say it should or should not be said or that it to be agreed with or not because or the persons status is ignorant.
His is one opinion. It's up to each of us to own our own damn opinions.
