If you are going to take your performance to the next level then you are going to
have to do things differently, and do different things.
As you begin to take new
actions you will bump up against your old habits, systems, and routines.
At this
point, it's easy to become discouraged - we call this the Valley of Despair. This is
the place where most people give up and go in search of another new idea, and the
cycle begins again.
To be successful, you need to learn to push through the valley. When you find
yourself in the valley of despair here are 3 things you can do to push through:
1. Stay connected to your vision - focus on the benefits of reaching your goals,
and stop thinking about all the reasons why this won't work
2. Work your plan - take action, do the things in your plan. Schedule those
activities for early in the week, and early in the day
3. Don't go it alone - seek out support and encouragement, participate in a
WAM, ask for help.
