[Pom] Sleep- A Ghazal

For Day 8 I have written an English ghazal on sleep.


Running from the world the senses descend a subterranean stair, sleepIn the arms of the engulfing dark knight, the body gives up its care, sleep
 I journey each night, I fly, swim, glide, slide, rise, fall, float, free   Give vent to desires bridled by day, I unleash the mare, sleep
Robbed most grievously of a jealously guarded identity I smile indulgently, as I slip ease fully, I let down my hair, sleep
Some nights the black fish keep up their vigil in the white ocean. I count  Sheep, the stars in the sky’s deep, yet can't quench the mind's flare, sleep 
Old, sick or injured they lie. Upon torturous hospital bedsIn pain, fear and listlessness; lament their saviour unfair, sleep
