Reading time
Well, well, well. Here we are. Quarantine time, for many of us, is a time to read. First world problems, I know, but it's something to enjoy. I have been reading and writing and creating as much art as I can. Some books, like
Black Leopard
, have dragged along (maybe because I read
7killings
first, and that was just a masterpiece), while
Mr. Fox
by Oyeyemi is an absolute dream to read. Partially an ode to Borges, partially just an ode to narratives nestled within narratives (and in that case, an ode to all storytellers everywhere), I found the book quite fascinating and I will be reading her other work.
I'm also reading Journal of the Plague Year (free over at gutenberg) from a few centuries back.
Hopefully will get to some other works.
I am surprised, when looking at 7killings, Black Leopard and even Mr. Fox, at how low those ratings are. Only 4 stars for 7?! What is wrong with people? Sure it's difficult, but then don't read it if you can't handle the dialect. Same with Mr. Fox. Probably the same people in charge of choosing the Nobel Prize for Lit. IOW no taste.
Other than that, I've been writing and creating some art. I know I mentioned Patreon, and I'll add everything there as I move from these other places, but I hope you can check out some of these pieces of mine.
What are you reading? Anything worthwhile?
Enjoyed it? Share it via email, facebook, twitter, or one of the buttons below (or through some other method you prefer). Thank you! As always, here's the tip jar. paypal.me/nlowhim Throw some change in there & help cover the costs of running this thing. You can use paypal or a credit card.
