Hard things crumble,
don’t you know by now,
solidity
is a false sense
of security.
Look at the trees
and how they sway,

roots deep below
the earth we borrow,
but in the storms
they dance.

Be the tree
and not the stone,
and if fire comes
(and come it will)
swing back and forth
until you are ash
once more.
