on this early
daylight,
let us linger longer
and wrap tighter
and speak of
nothing
and the hours
that can fill.

Let us measure time
in bird shadows
on white ceilings,
in Orions belt
and the way it moves
above us
while we wait
for sleep.

Stay here,
where it is safe
and warm.
