What story I’m currently working on:
Well, I’m starting to pick up steam again (ha, steampunk pun), and I hit 26k in Alchemists and Arsonists. Considering this book is meant to be about 35-40k, I think I’m making decent headway for my goal of finishing it by the end of the month. On a lark, I also started the first chapter of Eros Tales #3, because even if they aren’t coming out until 2024, if they’re all written and ready, I can do a rapid release of the series. So I’m already 2k into that new book as well. I’m not going to lie–that book will probably fly by, because I’ve been jonesin to write contemporary romance recently, and it’s my first May/December romance.
What I’m editing/marketing:
Guys, I finished Tempting Ballad AND sent it out for submission last week. So hopefully there’ll be good news for you soon, maybe even as early as next week! With that done though, I don’t have anything I’m currently editing, at least not until I finish the next book in my Whitfield Files series! I’m also going to start ramping up the marketing for Rising for Autumn and Of Coppers and Cracksmen! It’s weird after a year of so many releases to have so few this year! I’ve got to get cracking on that.

Line of the week:
Lex and Adrian viewed their sister as this bubbly, sweet thing—and he’d seen that side of her. Nellie was probably one of the gentlest, most genuine individuals he’d ever met. But the side they’d never seen from her, what he’d witnessed was the flirtatious, seductive minx who knew exactly what buttons she pressed.
Which was apparently the side that stepped out to play tonight.
“Sure thing, Nels,” he responded, the familiar nickname one that hadn’t slipped from him in years.
Her eyes smoldered in response. “How about tequila?” She pursed her lips, fixing him with her stare. “Whatever you think will leave me satisfied.”
Mitch restrained a groan. God, this woman. Why couldn’t she be coming in on Matty’s night? Based on the fixated stare she gave him, this was all intentional. They’d been dodging around each other for years now, ever since she’d gotten hitched to Greg. However, tonight was a reappearance of the girl he’d tumbled into bed with, even when he knew Lex would slit his throat if she ever found out.
