One day you’ll understand
the purpose behind
the suffering, the struggle
you swore would undo you.  
You’ll see,
standing proudly
in the untangled ribbon
that you wrapped tight
to hold yourself
together,
the picture painted
with the deep maroon
of the blood you
spilled.  

I swear to you,
this process will hurt,
there’s no getting
around this,
there’s no avoiding
the pain that will come,

but I swear to you,
it will pass,
and when it does
you will have
your answers.
