You ran into the birds,
hair streaming behind you
like ribbons, like playthings
of the wind.
Flock rose like confetti
inhaled by cloud
and storm,
all I heard was
wing song
and cry.
You turned,
half silhouette
shining in sunset,
your face was
alive
with laughter
and tears.
