What story I’m currently working on:
I slowed down my pace quite a bit this week, only reaching 12k in Of Alchemists and Arsonists. My goal is to hit 1/3 of the way through by the end of the month, which should be quite doable, since the Whitfield Files books tend to be 30-40k. I placed Paranormal Western to the side for the time being, but I’m sure I’ll pick it up when the mood strikes me. I’m getting more comfortable with not needing to doggedly plow through my pet projects. Since I have dozens of pet project manuscripts lying in torpor, I don’t need to add another to the stack quite yet.
What I’m editing/marketing:
I started getting beta feedback in for Tempting Ballad, which means I also started diving into the content edits. This book is going to need a bit more work than my more recent ones, but I’ve been trucking through the earlier content changes–hopefully they all fall in line as easily. I’m also still trying to polish up an older manuscript, and I’m still waiting on word for both Outlaws and Dungeons and Dating. Not going to lie, I’m terribly excited to start both of them.

Line of the week:
“Thank you for joining us,” Nate whispered low, catching her gaze. “I know how difficult the choice must have been.”
Bel’s heart lodged in her throat. When he spoke those sweet words to her, when he looked at her with the sort of care that made her dare to dream, she couldn’t help but fall further into the fantasy of a future without Blair, without running. With the sort of warmth she’d only witnessed from the outside of a window, peering in.
When she’d looked into Nate Whitfield’s eyes, the choice hadn’t been difficult at all.
