New Year's resolutions.

It’s that time of year again! Yay or nay about it, now that the colours and ceremony have been experienced, there is a definite question hanging in the air. What possible brand new, New Year resolution will be worth contemplating and adhering to with any valid sense of consistency? Not to be put of by well intentioned but failed earlier attempts at improving oneself or doing something that provides a positive result, perhaps easier said than done, this beginning beckons with a looming of a more defining and enlightening prospect.

How about that bulging belly fuelled with the traditional overeating of times not so long ago, the excesses might well be a not so loved reminder that the eating and not to mention the drinking, could have provided a logical New Year resolution all of its own. The spirit is strong and the intention clear but what is the right time to put the theory into practice?

If a resolution is too difficult to accomplish or sustain, then it will never become a reality. Lifestyle is the route of maintaining good health so knowing key elements to achievement is a good place to start. Within the categories of food and drink are the switches that will dictate to whether fat is used for energy or stored away in the body. In fact funnily enough certain habits of eating and drinking will ensure stable or perpetual weight gain. Sleep and rest points are the times when important processes can take place in rejuvenating the entire body and helps with many of our body-based New Year resolutions. Learning how to calm oneself and reduce anxiety can be key contributors to losing weight, improving mind body health, even looking and feeling younger.

A point in time when one looks at oneself with a view of making improvements is not a bad thing. As most of our actions are motivated by the subconscious mind, it may be a little disconcerting that in reality we may not be the super man or women that we think we are. Although it may sound funny, doing good and generous things to others has a far greater return to the giver. Reflecting on what one can do about the positively resulting aspects of life can be a most enlightening route to success. One could already know so many beneficial facts yet not make use of them because caught up in the routine of habit, who always had those moments to seriously reflect and redirect themselves to the optimum mode of living.

Taking time to enjoy the imagination is a pastime that can on many occasions be underrated. There are no end of enjoyable scenarios that can involve swimming with dolphins or exploring Aladdin’s cave and in learning the technique of visualising with the imagination, stress management and relaxation can be achieved. It can be extremely beneficial to make one New Year resolution but from it, receive multiple positive results. In focusing or improving the mind, other physical aspects can slowly start to increase.

It is actions that count, no matter what belief or title one has, striving to make the right choice
has rewards that can benefit more individuals than only yourself. The past has a potential in shaping the future, but only if we are willing to learn from it.
