Weekly Word Count: 12/18/19

Word Count: 1324

What story I’m currently working on:

So, I did the first baby step into continuing Tempting Ballad, getting it up to 33k. I’ll be continuing it tomorrow and I’m hoping to just get 10k further into the book by the end of the year, which seems like a doable goal. I hope so at least, because I want to have that book ready to come out next year.

What I’m editing/marketing:

Saving Throw and A Thief’s Crusade are out on submission, so hopefully that can lead to decent things down the line, but all of that is going to take time. Post the holidays I should be getting back to the book grind more heavily, including finishing up Of Coppers and Cracksmen to get it to the publisher. That means in 2020 I’ve got to be writing Of Alchemists and Arsonists too, which should be an interesting final jaunt in this odd, steampunky universe.

Line of the week:

Of course, the assholes sent a barrage of texts but no actual explanation why they were having a band meeting in the RV. He’d gotten a dozen or so eggplant emojis in his inbox too, thanks to Ky and Danica. Apart from salacious details on the mind-melting sex with Leo Kincaid he’d overshare to his bandmates, any other thoughts on the man were locked away, even from himself. The lingering warmth in his chest as he finished off the scone begged to differ, but he’d become a vet at ignoring pesky emotions.
