Our pastor is "hitting it out of the park" this advent with his Advent series on Sunday mornings. He's using Adam Hamilton's book,
Not a Silent Night: Mary Looks Back to Bethlehem
, as the foundation. I've read the book and recommend it to anyone looking for a new Advent read. It's a different perspective on the birth of Jesus and the days, and years, prior then moving forward to His crucifixion. It's a short book yet full of Biblical truths and insight to make you think differently. If you are in the Lycoming, New York, area and want to hear Pastor Brandin's messages, services are at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings. He's doing a great ob delivery this message.
As I wrote today's blog and shared about this book, I thought it would be nice to hear from all of you. I'm sure there are other Advent books I (and possibly you) haven't read or heard about. Let's encourage each other this Advent and share some of the great readings and books we use to help draw us closer to God during this special time of year. Who knows, you might share the book that brings the encouragement someone needs to make it through this holiday season. Thank you in advance!
Will you share an Advent favorite or
tradition in a comment below?
