"Auld Lang Syne" – A Season's Greeting from Kevin Walsh

This lovely arrangement of the traditional Scottish song (words by Robert Burns) is by Kevin Walsh, the wonderful composer who did the music for OUTLANDER: The Musical. Kevin thought you might enjoy this, and I certainly agree!

If you'd like to keep the song with you for a little longer, it's available here on iTunes.

Happy Solstice!

Mona A haunting rendition of this auld favorite. It is wonderful. So was it Kevin Walsh singing? I thought it was Alan from the Outlander Musical. No matter, I love the voice and phrasing of the song, as mentioned before, absolutely haunting!

Camping over the New Years weekend (it was in the high 70s in San Diego, California), several friends and I were trying to sing this on New Year's Eve. Picture, if you will, one guitar and 4 ukuleles and me butchering the pronunciation. For some reason, I thought I could handle the song after reading 6 and a half books of the Outlander series, and then listening to Davina Porter narrate those same books. The guitars and ukuleles did a great job, the singing.....Not pretty, but a bunch of Hawaiians did not know any better and thought I did well.

In retrospect, perhaps there was not enough adult beverages consumed. I will be traveling to Edinburgh in a couple of weeks and will purchase the proper adult beverage to sing this song.
In preparation for next year's campout, I purchased the song for my phone and will try to learn all the words.

My visit to Edinburgh is prompted by the book series. Thank you Diana for providing this engaging tale of Jamie and Claire.

Thank you Kevin, and thank you posthumously Robbie Burns, for this lovely song.
