The game you play review and release blitz, L.A. Cotton

Ugh. I wanted to love this book, I LOVED the first one in the series and I had high expectations for this one but I’m so devastated to say it fell short. For starters, I have to say this isn’t a stand-alone. It follows directly on from the first book, and a large part of it revolves around something that happens at the previous book’s end, but does not show in this one. There’s also more than a few things that happen which occur in the first book but aren’t even slightly reminded of here. It just feels a bit off for me.Second, I didn’t really like Jason. Bully romances are my newfound thing, but he’s one I just don’t like, not do I really get why he did what he did, specifically to Felicity. To be honest, I wanted to see more vulnerability from both Jason and Felicity. I wanted to see their weaknesses, their faults and how that affects them. I also don’t think Jason really knows Felicity all that well.I’m also going to be honest and say I almost DNFed this book twice, but I did plough through. This book is slow. It goes round in circles and it doesn’t really progress until WAY late in the book. Like I said, I was expecting great things from this book, I wanted to love it, but it fell flat.
