Agonizing Past By Dee Kay
Agonizing Past
By Dee Kay
A montage of memories taking over the conscious mind,
the resurfacing aching building up tears that are making me blind.
There are parts of the soul that are still missing their place,
Failure has become a part of me as I keep falling on my face.
I keep trying to get a hold of myself as enough is enough,
I wish I knew that this patch of life was going to be so rough.
Tell me if you have felt the same way as I do,
Have you missed yourself while the time flew?
Who was that person who took you away from you?
Or was it you who mistakenly put their trust in the wrong few?
Try to give me an answer by the end of this rhyme,
In this world loving someone else can some time be a crime.
A crime of passion that results in destruction of the one that’s true,
It’s okay to fail at love but not okay to pay more than what was due.
I don’t know if the person you have lost with passage of time,
Is worth the agony of your heart or even a dime.
You are stronger than the scars your body hides with you,
It’s time you move on as life is giving you the clue.
A montage of painful memories tried to cloud my present,
It’s a lesson well learned for the future battlefront.
