I'm not a romance author. Can I write romance? Yes. Will romance be in my books? Yes. Will it be in every book? No. Romance will never be the central theme of any of my works. Is that because I don't like romance or have never had it in my life? I'm not a fan of strictly romance books they don't hold my attention. There has to be more to it than just the romance. And yes, I've had romance in my life, the alpha and the sensitive and brooding type rolled into one in real life and it's definitely not like the Harlequin romances I used to read as a teen. And I never expected it to be because that's fiction. It's fine if other people like romance or write romance but it's never been my cup of tea.
I prefer no romance at all when writing or reading a book or very little of it if any. But if it does have it throughout it can't be the central theme it has to have mystery, suspense, sci-fi, fantasy, steampunk or one of the other punk fiction genres or horror, or some other genre involved as the central theme. And it must have diversity throughout and must be multi-genre. That's the kind of books I write and that's the kind I like to read. I'm a multi-genre author. I mix several genres in my books. And I have eclectic tastes when it comes to reading books and writing them. I'm a thinker's reader, the thinker's author. I like books that make me think especially if they are fiction. Those are the kind that resonate with me and those are the kind I write. If it doesn't leave me thinking then I don't remember it at all.
