Looks Like My Lowest Reading List In Almost A Decade

As of the time I’m writing this, it looks like I’ll clock in at just over 200 books read this year. I’m not even quite there yet. Given my normal reading, that makes for the lowest number likely since 2009 (the last time I read less than 200). It’s utterly unimportant, but I noted it.

Part of hitting 200 each year is that it makes it easier to convey how much I normally read. 200-300 a year is a pretty easy thing to roll off the tongue. 100-300 a year seems a lot less like an actual answer, and less communicative of the actuality.

This year just got busy. There was all the editing and prep for the release of Roses Are Red, Violets Are Stealing Loose Change from My Pockets While I Sleep, then the release and promotional work, then what turned into a three month moving process. Honestly, my brain was just fried a lot. That really slowed me down.

I also blame not wanting to finish Shōgun.
