My Mistake

I regret the things I said,
The way I acted, the way I left.
I regret the time I wasted, and
The false hope I granted,
By coming back.

When I left, I should’ve stayed
Far away and let you be.
But, I faltered,
My doubts grew louder,
I couldn’t take it,
My heart was weak.

I should’ve let you be.
The break would’ve been clean.
I didn’t stay away.
That was my mistake.
