Indian Hill: A Michael Talbot Adventure

The cool thing about Tufo novels is that you are usually following the same guy. He's a good guy, a down to earth guy who would put his life on the line for you if needed- as long as you'll do the same. But the Indian Hill series isn't quite what you think. There are no zombies here. There be something else.

In this small, New England town Mike Talbot and his best friend Paul are entering a major, maturing segment of their lives. Women are still important, along with the occasional left-handed cigarette, but mostly it's about bro's. The adventure begins when Mike's met the girl of his dreams. The woman he can't do without- his muse! That's when things go to pot.
During a concert, similar to Woodstock I guess, something breaks through the clouds, dark and ominous. When Mike wakes, he's in a small cell. A cell amongst thousands of cells, aboard a space vessel. The things that abducted him, along with about nine thousand other humans, look like humanoid crocodiles or alligators. They speak and only refer to people as "human". It's an annoying, rough and extremely ugly situation but so is what Mike's forced to do for alien entertainment. Something that places his life on a true Life or Death scale. But Mike's never been known to take things lying down. He has to get a plan together, so he and many others can return home.
Okay, so I'm already invested, having bought nearly all of these audiobooks. I can honestly say, I didn't like this one as much as I'd hoped. Not because it's not a good story but because there are some extremely vulgar situations that I've never read in Tufo books before. I understand why they're there but I didn't like it. One time I actually hit the FF button to get past the scene. It's bad. Bad but not enough to ruin the tale. I finished the story and as always rooted for my hero. Let's just hope that in book 2, none of the other stuff returns. If so, I'd honestly consider swapping those books out for something else.

I decided to return the rest of the books in this series. I am a lover of Mark Tufo's Zombie Fallout series and a couple others, but this one is not for me. I am not a fan of violence against women, of the sort that's described in this series. It was too much for me. so I let the series go. I won't read any more of these. His later books are the BOMB, but I can't do this one. Thanks!
