Thundering Through (& sorta-Christmas giveaway!)

It’s Christmas—sorta. We’re halfway there. Half a year ago I logged onto WordPress and started a blog, not really sure what I was doing. I still have no idea.

But I love it.

I’m sitting in a Barnes and Noble in rain-drenched Fort Collins, Colorado drinking an over-priced Starbucks cold brew (so worth it though).

I’m blessed to be writing this—my 60th blog post. A huge thank you to everyone who has stuck with me these past few months. It means the world to me every time you share this everyday adventure with me.

So as a thank you/merry almost Christmas, I’m giving away 5 FREE copies of my e-book Of Roses and Thorns to the first 5 people to Facebook share their favorite post from this blog site. Just pick whichever one meant the most to you and tag my name.

“Life was meant for good friends and great adventures.”

I love you all and I’m excited to see where adventure will take us over the next few months. Thanks for hanging out with me!

It’s truly been an adventure.

And now, quick Colorado update. Today was amazing! Have you ever watched the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds? A year ago or so I watched the Blue Angels brilliantly destroying the sky in Pensacola.

This morning, my family and Uncle David (who we’re staying with) drove to Wyoming to watch a Thunderbirds show.

When those planes speed right above our heads, my heart leaps. The sound is deafening and thrills me almost as much as a rollercoaster does. The show started an hour and a half late, because of weather, but the Thunderbirds made up for it with a fast-paced blur of perfect formations and daring dives. [image error]

They left streaks of white across the blue sky.

We stood in the crowd, pointing at the sky, and trying to guess where the planes would appear next.

The sound of their thundering raced behind the planes, unable to keep pace. This may seem like a stretch, but I want to live like those planes.

I want to both fly solo and close with others.

I want my writing to be the thunder that comes after the plane.

I want to make my mark in the sky.

Maybe it’s not a stretch after all. . . maybe it’s just a dream, one I’m working toward.
