Day 28: Reaching the Last Week #everydayadventure
“Today I took a page out of your book. I went exploring and looked down both streets to figure out which way to go,” Shelby said.
“Oh! And then you picked the street that looked more interesting?”
“Well, yeah, that was the idea. But both streets looked really interesting! So I went down one and promised myself I’d come back and explore the other street too.”
“That’s even better!” I said, as she showed me pics of her adventure in Le Panier, the “bread basket” of Marseille.
One of my other friends found this extremely legit coffee shop called Coogee, a short walk away from the hotel. She showed me pics of bikes hung up from the ceiling, and antlers, and an ancient Nintendo to play.
My “last week adventure” list just doubled.
And yes, last week. In exactly one week, I’ll be boarding a plane to go home. That thought is still sinking in. You know how time seems to fly and drag all at the same time. I feel like I’ve never not boarded a metro to get around the city, never not hearing a constant stream of French around me.
But I also vividly remember the way I felt in New Mexico the night before I left. For an hour I packed and repacked my suitcases, not sure what to take or what to expect. I felt such a mix of excitement and nerves.
It’s been an adventure, one that is not over yet.
“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.”
―Eleanor Roosevelt
