Goodreads

I try not to hang out on Goodreads too much. Other authors have told me that Goodreads is a place for readers not authors to annoy them. So when I go on the page, I try to switch to a reader and just check out books and my favorite authors to see what they are doing.

That being said… Sometimes I can not help myself and I check on my author page.

Today I noticed someone gave my book Raiden Out The Storm two stars. I don’t mind a low rating, but what bothered me is that they never said why the two stars. They just were like “I didn’t like this.” so *click* and that’s it. I have to stare at the two stars now and wonder… was it the threesome sex scene that turned them off? Or… was it my writing style.

I think this bugs me becasue in the militay they tell you why they don’t like what you’re doing and give suggestions for change. In the rest of the world, we can just walk about hating things and have no expectaion for anything to change. I am not sure if that is good or bad. I guess it just is.

Hell, even I will admit that I do that. I have been on Goodreads and simply randomly been like “I didn’t like that book so two stars” and I have no plan to tell the author why. It wasn’t even the author I was thinking about when I fluttered along clicking away.

This must be why those authors told me to not hang out on Goodreads! I should listen to my elders.
