message 3: by Helen (new)

Helen Loved it. So simple and so beautiful. Mr. King knows how to draw his constant readers in. Thank you for sharing!

message 4: by Lori (new)

Lori I read this book because it was called Laurie and although my name is spelled different I just had to read it. When I found that Laurie was a dog, well that made it even better. I love dogs. I can't have a dog where I live and I can't afford to move. So I loved this story! Made me very happy although I cried a little but it was a happy cry. Thank you Stephen King, it was great!

message 5: by Laifalath (new)

Laifalath It was a nice short story. Thankee!

message 6: by Jaycee (new)

Jaycee Wonderful, thoughtful, sweet story. Thanks for sharing it with us!😀

message 7: by DeeAnn (new)

DeeAnn Stephen King pulled me into this lovely short story not only with dog rescue but excellent descriptive flow between elderly Florida man & his sister. A cantankerous protagonist, his obvious need of rescue revealed as a new widow himself. Fun dialogue & drama make for brilliant short story.

message 8: by Wanda (new)

Wanda Maynard Drama! Suspense! I was captured and pulled right in by Stephen King's great short story! I loved it, and especially little Laurie with her unique rescue! Amazing!!

message 9: by Jesse (new)

Jesse More proof of Mr King's proficiency as a writer of the short form. Loved it

message 10: by Diane (new)

Diane Gordon I truly loved this short story. I wanted it to go on. I wanted Don & Laurie to have more adventures. But really, it’s perfect just as it is. Mr King NEVER disappoints. DiAne

MM Suarez What a wonderful and unexpected gift, thank you Mr. King for the short story and for all the wonderful books over the years. Can't wait to read The Outsider tomorrow!

message 12: by DEBBIE (new)

DEBBIE SLOAN Lovely short story from the King of all authors! Pun intended!

message 13: by Michael (new)

Michael I needed that. I’m not much younger than SK but if I say I can’t write then it is because I have Locked myself away from this world and I need to escape from what is holding me back from it. It was a very nice story, short, sweet with a tad of horror and oozing with reality for someone with my limitations.

message 14: by Chris (new)

Chris Austin A nice lunchtime treat. Thank you!

message 15: by Amy (new)

Amy Curtiss Beautiful writing, again, as usual, and always a surprise, my constant friend for 40+ years now, and still the undisputed King. What a fortunate time to be alive, in this world, with this writer.

message 16: by Kathy (new)

Kathy Riebeling My two favorite things - a story by Stephen King & a dog! Wonderful slice of Florida life, retirement, puppy ownership, sibling love. It has everything! I loved it!

message 17: by Jeff (new)

Jeff McIntosh Well...guess that I'm going against the flow...did nothing for me.

Jeff mcIntosh

Unsolved ☕︎ Mystery It was good. I kept hoping (view spoiler)
I loved the bond between these two. They both needed each other.

message 19: by Wanda (new)

Wanda Maynard I agree!!

message 20: by Kathy (new)

Kathy Fabulous! A great author can place the reader in a world with believable characters and plot with just a few words. King is definitely that talented.
