a writer's feng shui

there's something about reorganizing the bookshelves that rejuvenates me. it does, of course, mean that i won't be able to find the book i'm looking for (different from day to day) without a thorough search for months now, even tho i have a general sort of categorization in mind. but it won't be any worse than when those books have migrated away from the shelves and are piled somewhere in a group pulled together for reasons so arcane that even i don't remember why nevil shute's pied piper is in a pile with elinor lipman's i can't complain and peter mayle's a dog's life. the up side, i've already located three 'lost' books and discovered several that simply must be read immediately.
