August 21, 2017 Solar Eclipse
Since today is the Solar Eclipse, I can’t imagine writing about anything else that anyone would care about! LOL
I was reading about myths and legends surrounding the solar eclipse–many cultures felt the eclipse was a bad omen. Some feared the sun wouldn’t shine again so they shot fiery darts into the air trying to get it to re-ignite. And pregnant women, they had to stay inside or else something horrible might happen to their unborn child. But, the ones I liked were about the sun and the moon being lovers and the eclipse was just them getting together. I’m not sure what a union between a sun and a moon creates–maybe stars.
Anyway, enjoy the eclipse today! Our once-in-a-lifetime event.
And protect your eyes. Better yet, don’t look at the eclipse at all. Watch it on TV or YouTube.
