[image error]August marks the second to last month in the 7 Months of Scrubby Campaign by Red Heart. Thank you for following along with me this far in the journey. This has been a great ride for me in getting to see all of the new scrubby patterns and be able to share them with you. This month may seem like we are taking a step back in complexity, and we are. August is the month of scrubby shapes. Join me, in the Facebook Live video below, for a look at the new featured patterns for this month. I am sure you will find a scrubby shapes pattern you love.

If you missed the Live Facebook video be sure to mark your calendars for September. The theme for September is Holiday and if you are watching live there is a chance for you to win a $25 prize package from Red Heart Yarns. ONLY live watchers in the US and Canada are eligible. Watch the live video on the Marly Bird Facebook page.

After some review of comments and activity on their website Red Heart noticed that there are still quite a few people asking about basic shapes in crochet and knitting. They decided to combine this request with the scrubby yarn and the month of scrubby shapes was born. I will be honest, the crochet oval has always given me a little bit of trouble. If you also struggle with the oval, I have put together a video on how to make that particular pattern and share with you some of the tips and tricks that I have learned along the way.

Scrubby shapes are perfect for washing your face or your dishes but can also serve another purpose. Young children can learn their shapes and colors through these patterns. Make these as a baby gift or even for your own child. Kids will love the texture of the yarn as they play and explore with the scrubby shapes.

Let’s take a look at the six new patterns that are being offered in this collection.

One of the great things about the Scrubby line is that you can interchange the yarn types in the Scrubby patterns. (Always be sure to swatch before starting a project. This will ensure that you are getting a gauge similar to the pattern.)
