2nd hand selling and supporting authors

I am on a mission to bring fair trade to the book trade. One of the many unfairnesses is the selling of 2nd hand books (and other media) which garners no money or even sales figures for the creator.

I'd like to ask the lovely responsible buyers on here to consider this generally and support new items direct from 1st hand sellers. My book has only just found its way onto general bookselling websites and I'm still working on shops - this is a long journey with lots of stages!

Please support me (and other authors and especially independent publishers too) by buying new copies not resale, including charity shops. It's ironic that they make money to help poverty whilst depriving others of the money they need to live with!

If by chance you feel you have done with your copy (how could you part with this marvellous tome?!) and need the shelf space, please hang on to it for now. A time for 2nd hand will come, but it's not here and I am checking for them!
