A Volume of Ghost Stories

Tonight will be the third Ghost Stories LIVE! event that I will have been involved in as a cast member/author, reading a brand new ghost story written especially for the event.

At Christmas I wrote four ghost stories for the Ghost Stories LIVE! Yuletide event. I've written three stories so far for this Valentine's Day event. I'm never satisfied that I have the perfect story for the event, so generally write a few and pick what I feel is the best, but those who read the other stories remark that they're just as good, and maybe better. I guess it's all a matter of personal preference when you come right down to it. I'm reading Prophetic Justice, a magical realism ghost story, tonight. Cold Spots and Darling, Drink Your Wine are both contemporary ghost stories.

Last holiday season two of the four ghost stories written were Victorian era tales while the other two were contemporary.

Maybe Miss Peculiar needs to put out a volume of Miss Peculiar's Haunting Tales, Ghost Stories, Volume I? I'm thinking about that now, gathering them all in one place and maybe having the book ready at the next Ghost Stories Live! event. We'll see how my energy level is. I've been doing punctuation revisions to a few novels, still struggling with the comma issue--I really hate commas, although I tend to put too many in rather than too few!

And then there are those five novels sitting on the dining room table, and another sequel to Black King Takes White Queen because I'm already hearing from advance readers that they want MORE!

I'm also looking forward to a collaborative project with another Westfield author- love his idea and can't wait to get started! We just need to block some time to get together and get this started!

But first...Prophetic Justice (the chosen ghost story for tonight's event) is now up on my author blog susanbuffum.blogspot.com where it can be read in its entirety. The contenders- Cold Spots and Darling, Drink Your Wine are also among the recent posts on that blog.

Happy Valentine's Day weekend!
