A Haunting Good Time
I was a reader at last night's Ghost Stories LIVE event here in town. I read The Hour of Phantoms from my soon to be released book titled 13.
I was more nervous reading this short prose last night than I was tackling an entire author event on my own...don't know what that was all about. It's on UTube but I'm not sure what it's called or how to find it. I'll have to look for the link.
Today I ran back downtown to listen to the Westfield Theater Group's Kathie Palmer read Hubknuckles. She did a fantastic job!
I picked up an old volume of short stories by Guy de Maupassant. Seems I read some of his works years ago.
The sun was bright this morning but as afternoon has progressed the clods have gathered and now it looks as if it might rain at any moment. Kelly is at the trolley museum. This is the last day of Pumpkin Patch, and then the museum more or less closes until Winter Fest, although the restoration department remains open as work continues on maintaining the working cars and repairing those in the barns that need work.
Kelly actually expressed a desire to start looking for a home of her own this morning. She saw a converted elementary school in Suffield CT but it's way outside of her budget. In the spring we'll start looking for a place big enough for her, her vintage soda bottles, ink bottles, stamp and train collections plus her library and a cat (plus all her remaining toys and miscellaneous stuff in the basement!!)
That set me thinking about how nice it will be to have one extra room in our house, plus all that room in the basement her stuff currently occupies! You love your kids, but when they become adults they certainly accumulate a lot of stuff that can clutter up your house!! Know she's been saving for this step in her life...a few more months and she'll have a decent down payment and enough to redecorate and finish furnishing her first home.
The rain has begun....I love the sound of rain dripping down through the leaves....

Here I will write a little bit about my writing, how I write, how I create characters and environments...and maybe some little glimpses into my real life because writers and authors are real people after all. I'll also write about my books, my upcoming books and my projects that are in the works. I am a self publishing author, so I do everything by myself from write the book, to write all the copy inside the book, to designing a cover and basically promoting the book- it's a much bigger job than I thought it would be, but I love writing and sharing my work with others and after sending four or five years trying to go the traditional route, this was the avenue that I chose to get my writing out there.
