Be YOURSELF!
We all have reasons for doing what we do. I have been developing my voice for years. Daily it continues to uncover.
I stuttered in my early childhood. I’m in the middle of the introvert scale. I’ve always liked solitude. People told me that I was an “old soul”. My mother excused my behavior as “shy” when I was young. My mind wandered aimlessly until I started writing.
I searched for decades for my voice. When I started to journal I heard my voice for the first time. My voice was loud but only to me. For awhile it worked. Then it didn’t. My voice needed an audience to influence. Next I wrote a book and published it.
Why is our voice so important?
Our voice can effect change. Think of a time when your parents shouted at you. The power of the voice is meaningful. Our voice is our essence.
Where is our voice found? I believe it our our body, heart, spirit, and our minds. Part of finding our voice is the art of observing you. Developing our strengths and acknowledging our weakness is part of discovering our truth.
We have to sort through our minds to find our true self. To often we accept others truth. We must be willing to unearth our voice. Often in this busy world there are many distractions. We have lost touch of our own inner being. Observing our lives can bring us back to the present moment.
What do we do when we find our voice? When we finally find our voice we can make a difference. We can connect with others and develop our human experience. We can help mentor others seeking their voice by sharing our knowledge. We can impact and inspire.
Don’t let society shape who we are. Don’t let stereotypes define us.
Learn to live outside labels. Be yourself.
We must learn to let go of the judgements we have placed upon ourselves. We must learn to live outside of the collection of lifetime thoughts and beliefs and find our truth. We are more than what we have been taught.
To become a better thinker and a better writer I had to unearth my authentic self. I had to find my purpose and pursue it. I had to let go of the past and trust in the here and now. I had to align with my happiness. When I started my path I had fear of the unknown. I traded fear for courage. One step at a time always moving forward. These steps allowed my true self to shine.
Find what you love and pursue it.
Be unique. Be honest. Be yourself.
