A hero in trouble

I'm working on a story right now where the hero has to react to a horribly tense/hurtful situation and you know what? I could totally imagine him being an ass…but I can't seem to write it down!

I've been accused of having heroes in my books that are a little too perfect, and yeah, I can see that. I like my guys to be understanding and giving. And idiots piss me off. ;)

But even my real life hero makes me mad at times before he apologizes and gets it right. So…

Do you mind heroes who are wrong at times? Jump to conclusions and then find out the truth? Does it comes down to groveling enough to redeem them?

What do you think?

Mspink Great question, Vivian! For me personally, I'm incredibly frustrated when the male just jumps to conclusions and it takes most of the book for things to clear up. I can handle it if there is a misunderstanding and the explanation happens pretty quickly. I believe in reality thats how it would go. YES, your heroes are pretty great. But I like it that way. Its one of the reasons I love your books. I know everyone is different. Some people need that difficulty and angst factor. Not me. So there's my two cents. Misunderstanding ok, but not a long drawn out resolution where no one actually talks about it for the whole book. Don't feel bad if you write the hero to be understanding though!! Some of us love it!!!
