Changes. Why are they so hard? On My Thoughts Thursday #mythoughts

On Thursdays I open my blog - to myself. My thoughts. My ramblings. My whatever.
Changes. Why are they so hard? My parents are downsizing and moving across the province closer to me - their ownly child. I have no problem with them moving closer. I love my parents. I'm having to adapt to their aging and that terrifies me - but it's the actual move that I dislike. They are moving out of the house I grew up in. It's like that final snip of the umbilical cord.
We were there on the weekend. I walked through every room and said good bye. I've taken video of the place and have several items from their house that have special meaning to me or because Mom couldn't give the item up and doesn't think it'll fit in the new house.
Chnge is supposed to be good. Change is supposed to be better. 
Why does it terrify me?
