Inspired by the sculpted end table video series, I wanted to make something similar with a “floating” top. The legs are bloodwood, which was a challenge to carve, but not so bad with sharp tools. After cutting and flush trimming, a spokeshave and a rasp were used to define the shape. Top is dyed curly maple and attached to the apron center via a 1.25″ brass rod.
