Arrogance and narcissism…

I love it when a politician steps forward and says, "I humbly bow to the will of my voters," or some similar doggerel.  Most politicians aren't humble about anything—"humble politician" is what I would call an "approximate oxymoron."  Diogenes, the first famous cynic and one of my heroes, would be hard put to find a humble politician no matter how bright his lamp.  Yes, I realize that some people are humble and are, in effect, pushed into office—during high school I certainly didn't want to b...
