Interview update, my new image for Vlad, and Birthday man-candy

Hi all! Two weeks ago, you sent in questions for awesome author Ilona Andrews to pick through for an interview. That interview has been delayed, but for a happy reason: Ilona and her family just moved out of state. As anyone who has moved halfway across the nation knows, it’s a huge undertaking. As soon as Ilona is settled, the interview will go up. Thank you for your patience.

 

Switching topics, anyone who follows me on Twitter and Facebook knows that I recently saw X-MEN: First Class and developed a crush on the actor who plays Magneto (side note: if you haven’t seen the newest X-Men, I thought it was really good, hot actor notwithstanding ). While watching First Class, I couldn’t help but think if Michael Fassebender were a little younger and had that not-quite-a-beard-but-more-than-five-o’clock shadow thing going on, he’d made a good Vlad. Previously I’d cited a Viggo Mortensen’s look in The Lord of the Rings as a decent substitute for Vlad, but then last night, at a reader’s suggestion, I started watching the now-canceled BBC series HEX, which came out in 2004.

Okay, that last pic wasn’t from Hex, but it shows Michael with hair the length that Vlad has, and who doesn’t want to see those abs? *wink* . Wide forehead, defined cheekbones, mouth thin enough to be masculine but full enough to want to kiss, all combined with dark hair, piercing eyes, and a jaded arrogance that you can practically feel…Ah, Michael. You had me at “Don’t insult my intelligence.” Sorry, Viggo from 2004. You’re still yummy in Lord of the Rings, but 2004′s Michael from Hex can pull off menacing one moment and Mmmm, Come To Mama! the next in a way that really reminds me of Vlad. Plus, he has that striking and sexy but not pretty-boy look that I picture Vlad having. I know, I know, Viggo. I’ve been unfaithful. I hope this doesn’t hurt you too much. Maybe we can still be friends ;-). .

Speaking of yummy-looking men, members of my fan site gave me a wonderful birthday present yesterday in the form of a man-candy parade of images. First thread on the topic consists of various drool-worthy men, the second is filled with pics of what they imagine Vlad looking like (and those images are niiiiiiiiice).
