fork it over!

Kitchen Gardeners International is launching a new campaign to get America gardening! Led by Roger Doiron who helped Michelle Obama plan the White House Kitchen Garden the Fork It Over campaign is about raising money to plant more gardens and getting the word out about sustainable gardening.

Why Garden?

The world population is expected to reach 9 billion people in the next 50 years and sustainable gardens will be a big part of healthfully feeding that population. Gardening at home is a great eco-friendly and inexpensive way to feed your family too! Finally low-income populations desperately need more fresh fruits and veggies – what better way to provide them than community gardens? There are so many great reasons to support sustainable gardening so take a look at how you can help:

Gardeners: Make a small donation and share the fact that you donated with your online contacts
Bloggers: Write up Fork It Over and include their video see above and/or campaign images
Twitter users: Join the Twitter garden army and tweet using Hashtag: forkitover
Facebook users: Join the Fork It Over Facebook page to follow the campaign

Do any of you Kind Lifers garden? What's growing in your garden right now?
