What does Chelsea confess to being the dumbest thing she's ever done? #FridaySnippets

A snippet from my NA contemporary hockey romance - A Guy and A Girl

Scene Set - Chelsea and Hunter chatting on their first unofficial date.

"Not quite the same thing with me. A dancer is part of what I'm becoming. Quite an evolution's been going on here." Chelsea waved her hands around herself. "I don't know if dancer will be the end point. Oh, that was a pun. Get it? Dancer. Pointe? Never mind."Hunter scratched his head with his pen, and then checked to see which end he'd used. "What's the stupidest thing you've ever done?"She pulled her cellphone from her purse, checked her message then press the vibrate button. "Stupidest thing. Kissed Roger Camps on the lips in seventh grade.""Lucky guy. Which leads into why was that stupid?"Chelsea's heart skipped a beat. "The guy was a pig. It was a dare. You know, the locked-in-a-closet-with-a-guy thing. I figured no big deal and kissed him. He trashed my reputation. I spent most of high school living down the slut label he slapped on me."Hunter's brow darkened. "Must've been rough.""It was." Chelsea shook her head. "It isn't so much what people say to you. It's what they say behind your back. You can see it in their eyes and that hurts. What really pissed me off was nothing happened. He said," She made air-quotes with her fingers. "That we did it. He said it just to protect his manhood. He was too scared to try anything other than a simple kiss on the lips."Hunter cleared his throat and scratched his neck. "Being male here and at one point having been twelve, I can sympathize with the guy.""You know, looking back, I don't think it was so much him that I was mad at. My so-called friends believed him because they wanted to pull me down to their level.""Yea, isn't puberty fun? I like being twenty-two. I'm still young, but I'm not a teenager. I can legally drink. Emphasis on legally. I'm just waiting for the sophisticated mature thing to happen."Chelsea doodled flower people holding hands on her yellow notepad. "Didn't twelve to sixteen just suck? I began believing what my friends were saying about me. I started drinking and smoking and hanging around with...well, not the best of people."

What people are saying about Victoria Adams' A Guy and A Girl
Who can resist a sexy star hockey player with secrets...not many especially the coaches daughter. This story has hot and steamy along with psycho exes and crazy best friends trying to mess things up. Even after battling exes and boyfriends, hospital stays and a long distance relationship he has to overcome the secret of his past so they can move forward. Highly recommend this book.
There were plenty of plot twists and turns, which made the story very exciting. I didn't like the villains, so they were written very well. I loved Chelsea and Hunter and the way their romance built as they overcame each obstacle.
