Oh yeah, I'm familiar with SK's opinions on The Shining. I imagine most people on here are. Is he right? Well, it's all subjective, but, as much as I love the movie, I can see where he was coming from.As for The Dark Tower, who knows, maybe they'll do away with the racial aspect altogether. They don't necessarily have to be completely faithful to the books. This will annoy a lot of people, but the internet is full of people who are annoyed about something.

I remember the fanboys not being too pleas..."
King hated Nicholson's raving lunatic performance from the beginning, being as Torrance was a reflection of himself as a struggling writer dealing with alcoholism, for him there should have been a descent into madness not an out crazy dad incapable of showing love as Nicholson made him out. He also disliked Shelly's useless, powerless performance as Wendy as she was a way more determined and stronger character in the book. All pretty valid points and as valid as my dislike for this casting for the sake of more diversity in Hollywood as they clearly stated in the Oscars ceremony. I am a big fan of British tv and of Elba and Luther, having seen all the seasons. I also disagree with him cast as Roland and having to rewrite everything including one of the most important and racially tense interactions between the kat-et. This change does not make any sense and it is more obvious and pivotal as its repercussions may impact the whole story. More than Kubrick's approach to the Shining did.
