Lou Stock has always lived in a world of her own, continuously lost in her imagination. Whether in the forests that backed up to her home in Aberdeen when she was only six years old, the unique landscape of Singapore she discovered at eight, or the rolling woodlands that rolled up to Dartmoor during her teen years, there have always been new worlds to explore.

Now an adult living in Oakhurst, Texas, surrounded by trees, she has too many stories to tell. When she's not writing, Lou can be found hanging out with her family, crazy pup, or at the computer lost in her creativity of her successful graphic design business, L.J. Designs.

Self-Publishing

There are only twelve days left until the release date of Without Consequence. Down to the wire there is still so much to be done, and all I can say is how grateful I am that my first release is a collaboration with someone who is so well versed in what is needed.

Self-publishing isn't easy, no matter what anyone else says, just like writing a book isn't easy. It takes time and patience. It takes Read more of this blog post »

The final book holds so much heartache for me and it starts from very early on. I have to say I cry through so much of this. Rowling is a genius, though she's also earned the evil that goes in front of that. I have no words for the last book

“Writing a book is an adventure. To begin with it is a toy and an amusement. Then it becomes a mistress, then it becomes a master, then it becomes a tyrant. The last phase is that just as you are about to be reconciled to your servitude, you kill the monster and fling him to the public.”

You, Me, and The Pain by Elle Luckett
"WOW! Where do I start to write a review about this book to do it the justice it deserves. I have loved this series from book one, talk about saving the best till last, this book was everything you wanted it to be and so much more, I couldn't put it d" Read more of this review »

“Dustin, you’ve only known me for a few days,” I argued reasonably, even as my heart started a frenetic beat. “You don’t think that’s enough time to see someone’s soul?” he asked, his head turning so he could peer over his shoulder at me. “You don’t think that’s enough time for your future to suddenly appear with perfect clarity?”
L.J. Stock, A Shot in the Dark

“If you were music, I would listen to you ceaselessly, and my low spirits would brighten up.”
Anna Akhmatova, The Complete Poems of Anna Akhmatova

“Most people are born the day they arrive in this world. They take their first breath, open their eyes, take in their surroundings and then they scream. It’s the same for most. The moment they are held in their parent’s arms is the moment they truly begin to live. Not me. I was born on the 4th February, 1999 in so many different ways. In the morning, I went from being a girl to a woman. I lost my innocence in a way not many others have lost theirs before. Then I went home and lost my youth. My parents have turned their backs on me and I have happily walked away, and even though that walk was painful, it was also freeing. My wings have spread and finally, I feel like I am soaring.”
Victoria L. James, Izzy Moffit's Road to Wonderland

“Because it turns out that you don’t belong to another man, which means I’ve got a small chance of making you”
Vicki James, Ghost Note

“Denial met arousal. Frustration met need. Daisy met Danny, and those damn sparks flew between us.”
Vicki James, Ghost Note

“Sex without attachment was great, sure, but sex with that soul-deep connection always seemed to burn so much hotter and brighter.”
Vicki James, Ghost Note
